Children Can Learn an International Language This Summer
Would your child like to learn a new language this summer, or learn more about his/her heritage language and culture?
For over 25 years, the International Languages Program has provided elementary school children with an opportunity to experience the culture, traditions and language of their heritage or other countries.
During the month of July, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will be offering a summer International Languages programs for elementary school age children who will be attending Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in September 2018. Programs are offered free of charge in a variety of languages at various schools throughout Hamilton from Monday to Friday for 2 ½ hours daily beginning at 9:00 or 9:30am.
The focus of the elementary program is to offer children an opportunity to develop and/or maintain the ability to listen, speak and write a new language or the language of the home or heritage, and at the same time learn about the culture and heritage associated with the language. No prior knowledge of the language is necessary.
Registration will take place on Tuesday, July 3rd, or parents can register their children at any time during the month of July at the school where the class is being held. See flyer below for language offerings, locations and times.
